WINTER 2015 SPLASHED IN PASTELS
WINTER 2015 SPLASHED IN PASTELS
What does immediately come to your mind the moment you hear the word ?pastels?? Spring, right?
Think again!
And it?s not surprising that it?s precisely winter that enthused them to craft some splendid lightly coloured pieces for us to rock this season. Think about the snow and everything you associate it with ? childhood, clarity, and innocence. And really, letting yourself get out of your comfort zone and swap the black and dark grey with something bolder (think tailored mid-length coat in baby blue and a mint green furry jacket), employing the power of fashion, you?re actually turning down the gloomy mood evoked by the winter weather to spread out some happiness and cheerfulness instead.
Actually, a few days ago, C. cheekily remarked that fashion-wise I always end up dressed head to toe in colours from the not-so-exciting greyish-black colour palette. And even though I refused to straight away admit it, during winter it?s mostly the monochrome look I end up going for.
Ironically, when I went to ‘NEO-NATURE?s FLUID FORCES’ fashion event organised by some very inspirational independent designers, I found myself surrounded by some absolutely amazing winter pieces all in pastel colour that inspired me to shake my wardrobe a bit! Just check out that pink structured jumper by Prototype23 that looked more like a candy!

2. From Head To Toe!
If you’re not too scared that your outfit will get dirty on your way to work – why not go light from head to toe? A cream top and a pair of trousers, topped up with a mid-length baby pink coat is certainly a combo I regard as the ultimate manifestation of sophistication and chic.

Well, I know that you might find it quite difficult at first to step up your ‘fashionista’ game and straight away go for the candy colours (mint green, baby pink, soothing blue, and lemon yellow) from the pastel palette. I actually tried to make my mother wear an amazing dress in baby pink to a posh dinner party and she looked at me as if I was delusional. However, once she tried it on, she instantaneously fell in love with the fresh and quite unusual look. Well, even though she did like what she saw in the mirror, she couldn’t really accept the baby colour, and we ended up getting the dress in pale grey instead. If you also feel self conscious to leave your flat dressed in a shouting pastel colour, then the following two looks might feel more like you.
