‘Summer in the City’ LIVE NYC Posh Party and a NYC Street Style OOTD

‘Summer in the City’ LIVE NYC Posh Party and a NYC Street Style OOTD
Hey there lovely!
Even though I wasn?t planning on scheduling a post for today (knowing that I was about to spend around 24 hours travelling) when I got back home and went online my eyes widened in surprise! ‘Letters to Antoinette’ had reached 1000 Followers on Bloglovin? on its very 5 month anniversary with me completely unaware probably drowsing somewhere above the ocean.

And you know, despite the jet lag, lightheadedness, and painful headache that was bugging me all morning I simply couldn?t help but jump for joy and then do a little dance under the tune of my new favourite track: Dolly Parton- Jolene (Kygo Remix).

And though I was initially in the mood for jaunty celebrations, I took the sensible path instead and decided to get some rest and use the occasion to update you on the events I?ve attended before I packed my luggage to fly back to Europe for a while.
So, Today we?re talking Posh!
Yes, correct. POSH.
Actually, when Jamila (namisfashionlight.com) invited me to go to a Live Posh Party at the Delancay Lounge (lower Manhattan) with her, the first thing I thought to myself was ?Brilliant I should have taken at least a few more little black dresses with me?. I started mulling over the outfit I had to pull off for the night and while trying to find out more about the event it suddenly hit me. The #PoshParty was actually a party organised by the #Poshmarkapp team. I?ve come across their logo before, but for some inexplicable reason I’d never actually clicked on it to find out more. Well, the time had certainly come. I clicked on the icon being completely unaware of what new and unique that app could actually offer. And as a person who loves offline shopping while loathing the online one I wasn?t really sure whether this app would appeal to me at all.

A few minutes later I finally got my head around it! In
contrast to all other types of shopping websites/apps, Poshmark allows its users to purchase unique
pieces from the closet of the ones whose style they admire while giving them the
chance to sell some garments and accessories too?  Well, the
idea did appeal to me and when I found out how easy the shopping/shipping
process actually was I couldn?t wait to go to the event and find out more about
the app and stumble upon other fashion bloggers who have become some of its most regular users.

Rather than rocking a little black dress, I decided to pull off an outfit that would show a bit more personality. Inspired by the streets of New York, the vibrancy and magic of the city during summer, I went for something quite bold and selected a monochrome and overly short crop top from
American Eagle Outfitters and a pair of jeans from the same brand finishing off the look with a pair of pointed stilettos. I couldn?t really believe that I had the guts to wear such a short and belly exposing crop top, but the heat… Yes, the New York heat wave can actually trigger you do some weird things, I’m telling you.
When we entered the party it was already loud and jolly enough! We’ve been taking OOTD photos outside, and the heat exhaustion took us straight to the bar. We grabbed our cocktails and were all ready to go and meet up with some other fashion bloggers. The hosts were the fashion bloggers Martha of MDollNYC, Olivia of Corporate Catwalk, Sarah of The House of Sequins, Jen of Skirt the Rules, and Naty of A Love Affair With Fashion, actually a few of the hottest bloggers in town. Martha came and greeted us flashing her beautiful smile at our direction. I looked around and made a mental note of how perfect the organisation of the event was.

The guests were laughing, getting free manicure, and striking poses while holding quirky oversized objects in their hands in front of the friendly photographer. The CEO of the company Manish Chandra was also there, communicating with all of the guests and answering their questions. Well, the team of #Poshmark certainly did their best to entertain the guests and make them, well, us, feel very welcome and positive.

By the time J. and I left we were already somewhat tipsy, but not because of the cocktails, but rather from the positive mood that was floating in the air. We were laughing out loud and snapping pictures on the street (of course after we?d gotten rid of our
beautiful and overly uncomfortable stilettos). The lovely event that Poshmark
organised triggered lots of smiles, while also giving J. and I the opportunity
to chat and bond. She?s actually one of the first friends I made since I went
to NYC and the events which we attended together certainly helped us start
developing precisely that. Friendship.

Thank you Poshmark for the great event and I certainly cannot wait to take advantage of your innovative app.
P.S. A month left until the end of #LTADARESU challenge. Tweet, post photos on instagram! I canno wait to get a sneak peek at your healthy living results.
Have a lovely Friday tomorrow!

  • Hmm it appears like your website ate my first comment (it was super
long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I wrote and
say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog. I too am an aspiring blog blogger but I’m still new to everything.

Do you have any recommendations for newbie blog writers?
    I’d really appreciate it.
