When I first heard about Distortion a few years back, I never imagined it would be such a massive event. Actually I thought it was more like a street parade visited only by the underground ravers. Well, if that was the original idea behind it ? today, Distortion is pretty much Copenhagen blossoming and coming to life.

The moment I stepped out of the Metro all I could see was crowds of people, cheering, laughing and drinking beer on their way to Nørrebro. Little did I know what the crowd would actually be only a few blocks down.
If you follow me on Snapchat (antoinette.pepe), you know that my day didn?t start that well yesterday. But for those who are not in the loop of things, unfortunately I didn?t get the job at ?The Cloakroom? (here). And quite frankly, the email I received by the HR caught me by surprise. I did have a good feeling about it all, but ? yep ? not knowing Danish and living in Denmark is far from ideal. So you can imagine how crappy I was feeling when Filip gave me ring and asked me to join him to Distortion.

I had literally NO MOOD to do anything but lie in bed and pity myself – which when I thought about it twice ? was only going to make things worse. It was what it was… and entering a better state of mind was the only thing I could do so that I could wake up today, feeling a bit more positive and all ready to start on my job applications again.
Well, thankfully, being surrounded by thousands of happy and positive people did help. By music lovers, by teenager, by mothers, by students ? by literally EVERYONE.
So, today I?m sharing with you a few photos from the event last night and I do think it would be a great idea if the other capitals had a similar mass event organised annually to bring people together. And seriously, I?ve never EVER seen a police officer smiling and being willing to take a #selfie (my tips of how to take a selfie here) with the passing by stranger.
