DISCUSS: THE THIGH HIGH STOCKINGS – A CHOICE OR A MUST

There’s still quite a lot of controversy surrounding woman’s lingerie and whether it acts more as a tool for women empowerment or as yet another prop to be used to ‘please’ men. Well, the fact that I was also quite hesitant towards whether I should wear these ‘oomph’ thigh high stockings, suggests that there’s still a stigma surrounding everything ‘lacy’ and ‘transparent’.

But think about it, okay? No matter the object of discussion –  it’s the meaning we invest in it that makes it what it is.
 

So, ultimately it all comes down to the way you choose to perceive the lingerie you cover your intimates with, or for that matter, expose them with. Over time I’ve come to the realisation that despite the advice Cosmo and all other ‘Woman’s Guides for How to Be Sexy’ give, when I hit Women’s Secret  I do it for myself. I think of ‘lingerie’ as yet another fashion statement, a unique accessory I only know about, intended to please noone’s craves and tastes, but mine. And frankly, the lingerie I feel most confident and sexy in, while matching, is not encrusted in lace. 

So rather than wait for a ‘special occasion’ /Women’s International Day/ or a ‘special someone’ to treat yourself with a pair of matching bra and panties or thigh high opaque stockings – why not do it today and only for yourself? Similarly to the way you make the conscious decision to wear your ‘loose fit boyfriend jeans’ on a first date  totally aware that this is a piece of clothing that men would never get, (Seriously, whenever I go out with my AEO boyfriend jeans I’d normally receive questions like ‘Have you lost weight – those jeans look huge on you!?’) it’s entirely up to you to put your sexiest lingerie on when all you’ve planned for the day is a dinner out with your girlfriends. 

Actually, that’s precisely what happened when the girls and I went on our weekend getaway. We were all chatting, when a few of the girls ended up talking about sexy lingerie. It turned out that a few of them were wearing very similar lacy underwire bras, which all of you GUYS, would’ve been quite impressed by – but then again, it was their decision to rock them in front of us rather than you. 🙂

Anyway – as I named this post ‘Discussion’ – it’s time for you, boys and girls, to share your thoughts on the subject. ARE THE THIGH HIGH STOCKINGS – A CHOICE OR A MUST?
