Copenhagen Street Style: The Holy Trench Coat

First, let me clarify, I do know it?s summer, okay? And rocking a trench coat near the end of July is indeed quite bizarre. However, when you reside in a country where ?summer? is more of an abstract concept rather than anything else ? rocking a trench coat all year round is more like a necessity.
Do you remember when I spoke about ?the signature? coat and how every fashionista should own one?

Well, the trench coat for the Dane is like the sleeveless gilet for the jock. You basically wear it ALL THE TIME. You throw it over your tracksuit to go to the grocery store, you wear to work, when you cycle, when you leave the gym. So if you are to ever try to get that undone cool Scandi look – then laying your hands on a loose fitting trench coat is purely a must. Thankfully, I brought one with me when I moved to Denmark and while I would rarely take it out from my closet back home, here I wear it almost every day. It has a soft waterfall drape on the front as that’s literally the only type of coat that looks good on me as it softens my facial features (if you also have a square face, I’m sure you hear me). However, I admit that I’m still struggling to get out of my ‘fashion’ comfort zone and combine it with overly sporty attire.

However, if there’s something I learned from the Danes over the last 3 months (I’ve been living here for 3 months already?! SAY WHAT) is that you can as easily combine your trench-y with a LBD and a pair Louboutins, as you could do with a pair of dark (by dark I mean  black) pants and Nike’s Airmax. I?ve tried that look only ones, but unfortunately I forgot to document it :(. However, I do feel inspired to give that Danish undone style, which requires you to constantly mix and match casual and elegant, a go again and will make sure to share some photos with you.
And you, what?s the key piece you can?t stop wearing lately? I bet it’s more summery than mine!
