Central Park Splashed in Coral
Central Park Splashed in Coral
Dear reader,How have you been lately? As you probably already know over the last couple of weeks I?ve been living in NYC. A few weeks I regard as: Hectic. Different. Unique. And certainly quite Difficult.Occasionally I receive the odd message from a friend sharing their friendly jealously for not being able to be here at the moment.
It?s not the place that makes the memories unforgettable.
Rather it?s the people you spend your time with that do so.
Unfortunately, I tend to spend my days mostly by myself, walking around, exploring the city, talking to strangers, sipping lattes at cosy coffee shops, taking breathtaking photos, breathing in the fresh air near the river, laughing cheerfully when some street artists ?hit the tram floor? on the way to Brooklyn showing ?how to rock the Harlem shake?.
A few days ago, however, I was accompanied by a friend. When D. was still here we went to Central Park for a long afternoon walk.
This was our first time in Central Park and we were truly enchanted. Amazed by the stark contrast between the giant grey buildings that were encircling this somewhat still untouched by the firm hand of industrialisation piece of land, we climbed a little cliff and started taking photos, trying to capture the ?uncapturable.?
Turtles playing in the water.
Swans ? here and there.
Ice rink with kids ice skating and their parents having a warm drink behind the fence cheerfully encouraging them to keep on going.
And yesterday while walking home by myself from Brooklyn, Fendi?s window caught my eye. I noticed the beautifully combined attire on the soulless mannequins. All dressed up in Coral, the mute dolls reminded me of Central Park and the lovely time D. and I had there. The cheerful colour was in stark contrast with the grey surroundings somehow immediately reminding me of the quirky D. running around ‘Saks’ in her aim to get all the clothes she possibly could. Shopaholic? You bet!
And the Coral ? symbolising the bubbly laughter D. and I had, the moments of getting lost while trying to find the correct path out of Central Park, and the leg ache we got after countless of hours of exploring the magical piece of land situated in the centre of the city.
