IN THE MAKING: NEW YEAR’S EVE OUTFIT IDEAS FOR A GLAM NIGHT OUT
Inspired by the festive party season, A. and I decided to organise a photo shoot for www.fashionsense.com and come up with three different party looks, that could help you decide on your fabulous New Year’s Eve party outfit.

Photoshoot in the making:

Outfit 1: The DIY Black on Black

FEDE BLACK TOP WITH FLOWERS FEDE (HERE) // FEDE BLACK HIGH WAIST SKIRT (HERE) // FOREVER 21 ORGANZA SKIRT (HERE) // ESPRIT PLACEMENT FLOWER T-SHIRT  (HERE)
Do you remember when we talked about the black on black combo a couple of posts ago (here)? Well, it’s an outfit that will never go out of fashion. So, if you have already run out of time to stroll around the shops in the hopes of finding the perfect celebration outfit, then why not engage in some DIY fun? Lay your hand on some black lace and black material other than cotton. Cut some simple flower shapes from the latter and sew them by hand on a plain black top to achieve the oh-so -trendy 3D effect. If you, however, lack any sewing skill (like me) and are afraid to place the lace on your skirt yourself, I’m sure your ganny will be more than willing to help. Aw, and by the way, don’t be afraid to mix and match different textures and materials. The more creative you get, the quirkier and statement you’re final outfit will become!

To add some drama to your look, go for a thick winged eyeliner and for a pop of colour – for some bright red lipstick. I personally prefer the ones with a matte formula, however, as we talk New Year’s Eve – then why not add some gloss on the top to make it all more festive and fun? And what about your nails? We associate New Year’s Eve with new beginnings, right? Why not go for something fresh and clean like the classic French Manicure. In this way you ensure that even if you introduce some last minute changes to your outfit, your nails will still go perfectly well with whatever you decide to wear.

What about the bag? Well, it’s time to go out of your comfort zone with this Aldo Frame Clutch Perfume Bottle? For some more bag inspiration check out my post regarding the trending clutch (here):)

Outfit 2: La Debutante

Enough with the black on black, don’t you think? As a fashionista I’m almost certain you’re all ready to rock an outstanding and unique piece and shine bright as a star in the New Year’s Eve! Well, my suggestion –  a full-print flattering mid-lenght body con dress.

What I love about this look is that you don’t need any additional accessories to make it all look sophisticated and complete. However, if you’re into accessorising, then I suggest you pick a pair of statement earrings that complement the colourful patterns covering the dress. A hint: you can never go wrong with pearls!

What about the make-up? Nude eyes, well-defined cheek bones, and a darker lip. I’d personally apply some brown eye shadow and a very thin eyeliner. Also, if also go for the turtle neck, I suggest you put your hair up in a ponytail or clip it all back!

Ah, and the shoes? Take your nude Jimmy Choos out or any other alternative you might have like this Truffle Nude Heeled Pointed Shoes.

Outfit 3: Sophisticated Vibes

If you’re about to hit a posh dinner party – then I suggest you skip the black on black combo this year and give off the sophisticated vibes in an alternative way. The IT colour is ash pink – and the outfit – a two piece combo consisting of a chic pencil skirt and sleeveless crop top.

TINA THE COCKTAIL LADY (HERE)  or ASOS PENCIL DRESS WITH LAYERED ORIGAMI PLEAT (HERE) or PENCIL PEPLUM DRESS IN TEXTURE (HERE) // FOREVER 21 LACE PENCIL SKIRT (HERE) // ASOS BARDOT BANDAGE CROP TOP (HERE) // PULL & BEAR INTERLACED STRING NECKLACE (HERE) // JIMMY CHOOE NUDE PATENT POINTY TOE PUMPS (HERE)

As we have no turtle neck here and statement patterns, then the oversized necklace is a must! We’ve chosen a necklace whose colour goes perfectly well with the colour of the chain belt around the skirt.

The make up? Darker eyeshadow on the eyes, and dark pink lips are the perfect final touch.pastel_pink_two_piece_outfit

The shoes here should also be nude and all in line with the winter splashed in pastels trend (here). What about the clutch? Well, I’d personally choose something chic and sleek like this Oasis Gold Frame Detail Box Clutch With Chain Strap .

Also, my advice if you wanna go for the pastel – just do it head to toe. I know how tempting it is going for a pale outfit and combining it with darker shoes and accessories. However, if you’re aim is to look modern and chic – then take it all to the extreme!

We, I hope my 100th post has given you some ideas regarding the party outfits you could pull off this New Year’s Eve! And just remember, NYE is just another excuse to have some fun! So no matter what the choice of outfit is – make sure to take some cute flats like these Marvela Minty Suedette Flats! At the end of the day you’re not planning on going home any time before the morning right? 🙂

P.S. Stay tuned for my 100 Post Celebration Giveaway that will be up and living very soon!
Lots of love,
A.
