HARPER’S BAZAAR ‘TRAVEL FASHION SHOW’ AND A ROYAL BLUE DRESS
A few days ago A. and I attended Harper?s BAZAAR ?Travel Fashion Show? at Hitachi?s showroom. The moment we entered the building I was immediately transported back to the Dominican Republic, with all the exotic trees, encircling the catwalk and variety of decorations in strikingly bright colours.

It no longer seemed like Punta Cana the further we went into the building. The little corner right behind our table had this relaxed Boho feel to it. Fluffy pillows were spread on the floor and Shisha Hookahs were awaiting the guests on the tables. ‘Morocco’ it all shouted loudly.

Jegermeister, on the other hand, had used to their advantage the cold weather to create winter wonderland out on the terrace, decorated with ski sets and lots of jegershots prepared for the ones entering in the darts competition.

Hardly did I know that these three corners actually represented the themes of the fashion show that was yet to begin: Tropical Sensation, The Boho Spirit of Morocco, and A Chic Getaway in the Alps. The models rocked pieces by BCBGMAXAZRIA, Elisabetta Franchi, Gant, Juice Couture, Just Cavalli, Collective, Morrigan, Luciano Barachini, Massimo Zardi, Opticlasa, Raxevsky, Sandro Ferrone, SIX, Totally Erected Store, Who?s Who, Samsonite.

Topical Sensation:

With every minute passing, my wanderlust was also arising. I couldn?t stop thinking about the possibility for a ski trip to the French Alps, with me wearing sport-chic combos and sipping mulled wine right near the fireplace. And quite frankly it was the Alps part of the runaway that impressed me the most. Fur and bomber jackets combined with leggings, which resembled quite a lot Nike?s collection, and warm winter boots and trainers in white.

It was indeed the perfect mélange of ‘sporty’ and ‘chic’.

Apart from the Alps fashion selection, a few of the Moroccan combos in warm autumn colours appealed to me quite a lot. Just imagine yourself wearing that Boho inspired outfits rushing down the streets of Marrakech?

Near the end of the fashion show, I couldn’t help myself and asked A. to take a selfie together right near the piano. Blogger off duty? No such thing would ever exist. And as you could probably tell, by that point, I?d already applied some brick red lipstick for a pop of colour.

While satisfying our hunger for fashion, we also satisfied our hunger of tasty food. We were also served some delicious cocktail bites and wide range of complementary drinks. And even though I didn?t try the cocktails offered at the tropical corner, I didn?t miss out on trying the Moroccan sweets that tasted pretty divine.

My choice for the night was a royal blue dress from an independent designer and a quirky clutch that matched my brooch. To make a fashion statement, A. and I decided to pull off looks that would compliment each other rather than clash. The colour of my dress perfectly matched his slim fit blazer and collar of the shirt. That?s actually a great idea if you’re attending an event with someone and you’re aware that you’ll be photographed. Coming up with outfits that look good next to one another will both make you stand out and look better when photographed together. So now you know what you have to do for New Year’s Eve right? J
