Starting Over – But Coffee First.

With a cup of coffee in hand I spent a couple of hours wondering around the streets as Philip had to deal with the agency photographer who took the photos of our flat. Photos? Yep, we’ve put our flat for sale! That’s the first time in my adult life that I feel a little bit nostalgic towards a ‘thing’ and get a fluttering feeling in the stomach from the thought of handing the keys to another family. I guess because that’s the flat that became our home, the first home  Sofia entered and lived during the first six months of her life. We’ve actually decided to sell pretty much everything…and start over! Of course with the exception of a few unique home...

Taking a step to the side.

It’s been a rough month and just a week ago I couldn’t even imagine how it was all gonna fall into place. But that’s the thing – when there is a cloud over your head you kinda forget that all you need to do is take a step to the side and let the sunshine spread its rays once again over your life. Remind yourself that other directions exist and then be bold enough to pick a bumpy road to a hopefully a ‘brighter’ ahead.   It’s all about making the choice to liberate yourself from what everyone expects and say ‘HELL YES’ to what the heart narrates. But for now I’m going for a stroll down Nørrebrogade just to look back and reflect on a journey that’s changed my...

Family ‘Hygge’

There is nothing cosier than spending time with the ones you love. Or as Danish people like to say it’s all about the ‘familie hygge’. I’ve tried to explain what ‘hygge’ means in some of my previous posts,  but if you haven’t come across the word – it refers to everything that’s cosy, happy, and snuggly… And, of course, ‘hygge’ has a different meaningt for everyone – Philip once told me that every time he considers something ‘hygge’, a specific childhood memory comes to his mind. Faux Fur Coat by ASOS (here) // Noisy May Leggings (here) // Marble Shades (here) //Jumper by Only (here) // Bugaboo Buffalo Wagon (here) // Patterned Boots by Glamorous here and Chelsea Ankle Boots by ASOS here The Danish...

Monday Motivation: Let’s Walk the Walk

I can’t even believe Philip puts up with that – I mean me constantly rearranging the flat and creating all those ‘blogging corners’ just for fun. In case you’ve forgotten there is a dress hanging on the wall in the living room (a lacy one that I haven’t even worn yet (here)), magazines and cameras all over the place, and now a few pair of boots lined up right next to his PlayStation. But if there is one single thing I literally despise is spending a lot of time at home. And here I am forced to do precisely that. So in order to feel sane, I’ve turned our living room in this blogging perfect space with different corners for writing,...

From ‘Black’ to ‘Happy’ Friday

It’s so easy to forget that life is what you make it. I used to read inspiration books, practicing the law of attraction all the time and then collecting the fruits of my labour. And it was great – my life was headed in the right direction and everything was falling into place. Until all of a sudden I stopped projecting positive thoughts and started living from day to day, focused solely on the day I’d meet Sofia-Malou. Today I often catch myself thinking about the future and being uncertain in regards to what it holds, as if I’ve completely forgotten that it depends solely on how I paint it. It’s similar to when we say that being a mother...
