BLACK ON BLACK OUTFIT AND STATEMENT EARRINGS TO JAZZ IT ALL UP
Even though I?ve been trying to wear lighter and brighter clothes since the launch of Letters to Antoinette, even now when I aim for a chic & sophisticated look, I’d rather go for the classic ?black on black? ensemble.

The other day I was about to attend a dinner party with the girls. I had just received a new pair of statement ?eye of the tiger? earrings, and as I?ve been more of an ?oversized necklace? type of a girl lately, I decided to go for my new oversized earrings for a much needed change.

However, as you could probably tell from the photos, the earrings are indeed quite bold and eccentric which definitely meant that I had to go for a bit more basic outfit. So just like that, after having turned my back to the black section of my closet for quite some time, I was once again ready to go for the ‘black on black’ combo.

As I wasn?t in a mood for an overly dressy outfit, I went for a pair of loose high-waist sweatpants and combined them with my new MANGO cropped sweatshirt in black. For a pop of colour and to add some height, I chose a pair of brown gold peep toe pumps that matched my earrings and MANGO cat-eye sunglasses.

And even though, recently, it’s been quite popular wearing clashing with the rest of the outfit accessories, on that one I’d rather stay on the traditional side. Choosing matching accessories gives off the impression that you’ve indeed put some thought into your outfit, while also ensuring that you don’t end up looking like a colourful exotic bird.

And, finally, just a quick tip when going for a statement jewellery:
First, choose either a pair of oversized earrings OR necklace and if you want to combine them with anything else – do it with either a bracelet(s) OR a ring.

Aw, and as a side not, rather than choosing your outfit first, why not do it the other way around?

Pick a piece of jewellery, and then build your outfit around it. In this way you ensure to ‘dress-under’ and let your piece of accessory do the talking for you.
